MasterFinish 380

Surface Retarder for Exposing Aggregate in Horizontal Concrete Surfaces

How Does MasterFinish 380 Work?

MasterFinish 380 is a water-based chemical retarder used to expose the aggregate in horizontal concrete surfaces. It delays the set of the mortar paste on the surface to a controlled depth without affecting the set of the main concrete. The retarded mortar paste may be removed by washing and brushing after the concrete has been set to expose the aggregate.

MasterFinish 380 has been re-formulated with a high-visibility yellow pigment dye, making it easy to see when sprayed onto any colour of freshly placed concrete – including mixes containing black oxide pigment.

Recommended Uses:

  • Production of exposed aggregate architectural finishes on horizontal surfaces or pre-cast panels produced in a horizontal plane.

  • Application on concrete slabs before the granolithic application of a screed or thick layer surface topping.

  • Exposing aggregate on horizontal 'kicker' and construction joints, ensuring good bonding of fresh concrete and eliminating the requirement for mechanical preparation of these surfaces.

What Makes MasterFinish 380 a Unique Solution? MasterFinish 380 set retarder is economical and extremely easy to use. Once the free water has evaporated from the surface of the freshly placed concrete, spray-apply MasterFinish 380 at the rate of 250ml per square metre. The non-staining yellow dye clearly shows which areas have been sprayed, helping to ensure full and even coverage every time.

What Are the Benefits of MasterFinish 380?

  • Economical and easy to use.

  • High-visibility yellow dye ensures even application.

  • Non-staining.

  • Ideal for a wide range of concrete applications.
